10 Signs You are Addcited to Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee

It was about three years ago now that I had my original and first iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts...and since then I haven't been the same.  That iced coffee changed my life and the way I live.  My original iced coffee was a plain jane; a medium iced coffee with cream and sugar, boy, I had no idea what my future was about to hold for me.  Ever since, I have been a regular at my favorite Dunkin Donuts shop. I have seen some of my favorite coffee makers come and go, and a little piece of me believes that I could get behind the counter and teach the new employees how to make the perfect iced coffee.  And let's be honest, if you say you haven't thought the same thing we all know you're lying.  So if you are completely aware of your Dunking obsession just like I am, you know these 10 signs that you are for sure, 100% addicted to Dunkin Donuts:


  1. When you are looking for a Dunkin' Donuts, you're eyes immediately begin searching for the color combination of pink and orange:
    • Let's be honest, when you're in an unfamiliar area and you get that craving for an iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts, you can spot the famous color combo, that quite frankly makes you super happy.  Pink and orange is your favorite color combo, and who would have thought those two colors would even work together.  But instead of those other fast food places that are all the same color, you know you've hit jackpot when you see pink and orange up ahead!
  2. There is never a discussion whether you are going to stop at Dunkin' on your day out shopping:
    • Whether you are out for a quick stop at Target or are spending all day going shopping, there is ALWAYS time to stop at Dunkin' and get an iced coffee.  It is automatically assumed that if you makes plans with your friends, whoever is driving knows that the first stop is and will always be at Dunkin'.  Or even when you are out with your parents or siblings, the car will drive itself to the drive through.
  3. The best gift to get is a gift card of any amount to Dunkin' Donuts:
    • It never ceases to amaze me that people will still ask me what I would want for my birthday or Christmas per se because we all know that a Dunkin gift card will make me just as happy as a $20 bill.  Well, that $20 will most likely go towards Dunkin iced coffee anyways.
  4. The Dunkin' Donuts app is your prized possession.
    • If there is one app you cannot live without, its this one.  You check it regularly to see what the next offer is or how many points till you reach the infamous 200 points to get your free beverage.  And when you do receive that free beverage it is like you hit the lottery.  FREE LARGE ICED COFFEE COMING YOUR WAY!
  5. You have miraculously become a fan of whatever big football team is closest to you.
    • Okay, okay, maybe not an actual fan, but if they win you are a happy camper.  I mean a free medium beverage of your choice on the following Monday?  yes please! The only part of the game you actually care about is the last 5 seconds just to see if they could help out your addiction a little more.
  6. Getting bribed with an iced coffee
    • We have ALL had this happen to us, at least once.  "Hey, I'll get you an iced coffee from Dunkin if..."  And you most likely give in, because there's nothing you wouldn't do to get a free iced coffee.
  7. Your refrigerator is being taken over with Dunkin cups
    • The fridge seems to no longer have the milk, bread and butter option, its more of a sip of iced coffee, here and another one over there.  And we all know that if there is just a sip left, you NEVER throw it away.  It will sit in the fridge until you have a craving for a Dunkin iced coffee.  Once you get the 4 cups finished and thrown out, next week it will look the same again.
  8. Taking full advantage of the promotions
    • $1.99 any sized iced coffee for the whole month of August?  You betcha you'll be there everyday.  Walking into the store, you know you're going to order a large because why would you pay the same price for a smaller size?  Then there are those who get a small for the same price and you want to look at them like they're crazy because what are they doing with their lives?
  9. Debating getting a part time job at Dunkin' Donuts
    • C'mon now, we've all thought about it.  Think about all the free iced coffees you could get?  You would be able to add however much flavor in it as you would like.  Try crazy combos of flavors.  The possibilities are endless.
  10. When people say "Want to go to Starbucks?" and you cringe
    • Who in their right mind would ever think it is okay to ask you such a horrible thing.  Why would I spend twice as much on coffee that I have to add my own cream and sugar to?  That is absolutely ludicrous!  And if someone ever asks you about going to Starbucks, you should just stop being friends with them, because clearly they don't know you would never cheat on Dunkin' with Starbucks.

Freshmen year is over.  Here I am, again, sitting in an empty dorm room.  Car is packed, my roommate already left, and I have one final remaining.  People are not joking when they say time flies, this has become so apparent.  It does not feel real.  I thought this day would never come.  Being swamped with homework, papers, projects, and studying for finals.  It is a lot to take in.  I have to thank Bloomsburg University, but especially Columbia Hall for being my home away from home (along with all my crazy floor mates).  As I sit here, I reminisce on move in day.  How crazy and hectic that was.  I was in an unfamiliar place and thrown into a jail-like room (or so it felt).  I am really going to miss being a freshmen living in a dorm.  It was always exciting to know this was where I was coming back to after a weekend home.  This past year has been a time of growth for me, that's for sure.
